Sandra Kay (Barker) Gallis

February 17, 1942 ~ August 8, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

ZANESVILLE

Sandra Kay Gallis, 75, of Zanesville, died at 4:50 A.M. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Genesis Hospital. She was born February 17, 1942, in Gnadenhutten, Ohio to the late Ethel Virginia Barker and Ronald Barker. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church, where she was baptized on 1st day of February 2017 by Jonathan Paugh. Sandra was a very loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and niece to many. Family was what was most important to her. She had a great sense of humor and could light any room up, just by walking in the door. Sandra was a person who asked for very little, but gave everything she had. She had many friends and people that looked up to her, not only as a mentor, but as a mother figure. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and to test her luck with Bingo. Sandra may have been taken at a young age, but no doubt that she lived a full and happy life with what the Lord blessed her with. Sandra was never the one to complain and was always there in the time of need, regardless the situation. She was truly an amazing woman, which inspired many.

Sandra is survived by her loving family: four sons: Mike Markley, David Dean Markley, Steven Markley, Albert Gallis; daughter Ann Vest; three grandchildren: Cecelia Spragg, Lisa Nester, and Michelle Vance; four great grandchildren: Jayden Nester, Brooke, Beth, Bradley; a great great grandson Elie; five brothers: Richard Barker, Ben Barker, Ralph Barker, Jerry Barker and Bill Barker; two sisters:  Barbara Cooper and Marilyn Barker; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Gallis, whom she married in 1967 and who died February 11, 2004.

A memorial service will be held at 3PM Friday, August 18, 2017, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Steve Looker officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, White Cottage.
