Nancy Botkin

ZANESVILLE Nancy Ann 'Long' Botkin, 82, of Zanesville passed away suddenly on June 22, 2017 at Zanesville Health and Rehabilitation following lengthy illnesses. Nancy was born February 14, 1935; a Valentine's Day baby; in Mansfield, Ohio. The daughter of Waldo and Viola Long of Gainsville, Fl. Nancy married her only husband, Orien Vance Botkin, on March 15, 1952. Together they owned the Zanesville Singer Sewing Machine Dealership, turning it into Zanesville Sewing and Drapery Center for many years until Orien passed away in 1998. Nancy continued to make draperies, slipcovers, pillows and hand-made quilts until 2015 when she became ill. She retired in 2016 as a seamstress for Worthington Interiors. Nancy loved to sew, making hand-made quilts for family and friends. She loved to draw and was an incredible artist. She loved reading and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed many vacations with her sister and family in Florida where she also loved the ocean. Nancy was Methodist in faith and enjoyed attending the First United Methodist Church on Putnam Ave. Nancy is survived by her daughter, Remyblu J. Parsons, son-in-law, David S Parsons, her grandchildren Samuel Parsons, Craig Parsons, Brandon Parsons, Brittanie Parsons, Nickolas McDonald, Jonathan Botkin, Austin Botkin, Katie Botkin, Kristine Grindley Broceus, Alexander Grindley and numerous great grandchildren. One daughter-in-law, Linda Botkin of Zanesville. One sister, Jayne (David) Allbritton of Sanford, Fl. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Waldo and Viola Long, husband, Orien Vance Botkin and two sons, David V. Botkin and Michael A. Botkin. A memorial service will be held on July 9th at 2:00 pm at the SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. All who attend are welcome to share their memories and photos of Nancy as we celebrate her life with Pastor Joy French officiating.
