Raymond A. Dickerson

Zanesville Raymond A. (Ray) Dickerson, 88 of Zanesville passed away at 12:10 AM on May 29, 2016 at home. Ray was born in Muskingum County, to the late Robert and Fern (Neal) Dickerson. Ray was a car salesman and general manager for Keith Scott Oldsmobile. He retired from Morris and Snyder. He was a member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church and was a Life Member of the V.F. W. Post 1058 and past president of the Northern Ohio Oldsmobile Club. Ray served his country in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Bushnell. He is survived by his wife; Maybelle L. (Bush) Dickerson whom he married February 12, 1955, a marriage of 61 years, his son; Doug Dickerson of Florida and his daughter; Marti (Steve) Briggs of Uniontown, Ohio, four grandchildren; Jeremy (Missy) Briggs, Laura (Stephen) Craig, Drake and Dax Dickerson, three great- granddaughters; Elizabeth, Abigail, and Catherine Briggs, brother-in-law; Joe Hawxhurst, sisters-in-law; Mary E. Bush, and Bonnie Bush, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ray is preceded in death by sisters; Vesta Hawxhurst, April, 27, 1991, and Barbara LaFrance on January 3, 2016 a nephew David Hawxhurst on September 10, 2015. Calling hours will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 2, 2016 and one hour prior to services at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Snouffer Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Steven Fewell and Reverend Tom England officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors by VFW Post 1058. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Trinity United Methodist Church 62 S. 7th St. Zanesville, Ohio 43701, or to Genesis Hospice-Morrison House 713 Forest Ave. Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
