Carol Ann (Shipley) Sowers

ROSEVILLE

Carol Ann Sowers, 57 passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. She was born May 16, 1960 in Zanesville and was a lifelong resident of Roseville. Carol was a 1978 graduate of Philo High School, received her Bachelor’s degree in education from Bowling Green State University and her Master in Education from Muskingum University. She retired from the Tri Valley School district after 30 years of teaching special education. Carol was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church of Roseville, the Mother’s Club, Wednesday Afternoon and Saturday Night Card Clubs and Tri Valley Teachers Breakfast group. She was active in camping, fishing, kayaking, having fun with her Roseville girls of the class of 78, she also loved to travel and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her mother Shirley Shipley; her husband James (Mike) Sowers; a son Michael (Tosha) Sowers; grandchildren Bradley and Mandi Sowers; a brother Jeffrey Shipley; brother in law John (Veronica) Sowers; sister in laws: Ginger (Jim) Hunt and Sharon Shipley; two nieces: Angie (Lois) Shipley and Jennifer Sowers; three nephews: Josh (Jody) Shipley, Shane (Jennifer) Shipley and Chris (Rachel) Sowers; five great nieces: Ella Shipley, Hanna Hicks, Olivia Shipley, Sophia Shipley and Alyssa Sowers; a great nephew Lucas Sowers; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father: Thomas Shipley; mother and father in law: Fairy and Marvin Sowers; and a sister in law Pat Sowers.

Calling hours will be held 2 to 7PM, Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 146 N. Main Street, Roseville, OH. Funeral services will be held 10AM Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the church with Pastor Jerry Sutton officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery.
