Clyde Elton Watson, 85 of Norwich went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2018 at home surrounded by family. He was born on January 16, 1933 in Westland Twp, Guernsey County to the late Leland and Glenna (Gibson) Watson. He married the love of his life Nettie Grace Bowers on August 2, 1952. Clyde was a farmer all of his life. He worked as a press operator at General Electric where he retired in 1993 after 24 years of service. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was also a member of First Families of Guernsey County, Muskingum County Genealogical Society, First Families and Pioneer Families of Muskingum County.
Clyde is survived by his wife of 66 years Nettie Grace (Bowers) Watson; a daughter Beverly (Larry) Hansel of Granville; three sons: Duane (Joyce) of Adamsville, Jeffrey (Beth) of Norwich and Darryl (Tracy) Watson of Dresden; grandchildren: Danielle and Curtis (Holly) Bilyeu, Jason (Amy) Hansel, Kayla (Nick) Jones, Brandon, Brody (Amanda Davis)Watson, Grace Watson, Kim (Jason) Goff, Abby (Tyler) McClain and David (Molly) Watson and Craig Huey. He is also survived by his 17 great grandchildren, his brother Kenneth Watson; sisters: Martha Babcock, Sara (Walter) Fox, and Carolyn (Don) Green; Sister in laws: Wanda Watson, Marlene Watson, Martha Martin and Janice (Weldon) Funk; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Susan Bilyeu who died September 20, 2014, son in law Dana Bilyeu who died September 24, 2014; brothers: Roy, Glenn (Phyllis), Dean and Richard Watson; a sister Lena (Gary) Claypool; sister in laws Pat Watson and Mary Louise Watson and brother in laws George Martin and Paul Babcock.
The family would like to thank Genesis Hospice for their help in his final days.
