Doris E. Wells, 89 of Dresden, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Genesis Morrison House. She was born October 21, 1927 in Adams Mills to the late Harry B. and Emma Belle Krebs King. Doris enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, cooking and canning. She also loved to tend to her flowers and garden.
She is survived by two sons: Ernest (Tammy) Wells of Chandlersville and Bill (Terri) Wells of Dresden; three daughters: Cheryl Wells of New York City, Martha Prouty of Norwich and Becky (Mike) Bates of Pickerington; three sisters-in-law: Delores Bronkar, Joann Brown and Sandra (Dick) McBride; ten grandchildren: Gregg Wells, Jeff Wells, Andy (Andrea) Prouty, Amanda (Isaac) Hughes, Misty Bible, Megan Wells, James Wells, Jeremy (Kylie) Wells, Michael Bates and Mark Bates; great grandchildren: Maddie, Luke, Olivia, Emily and one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur L. Wells, who passed away January 13, 2009; a brother Ward C. King; two sisters: Marjorie Tom and Lelia Postel; four brothers-in-law: Kenneth Wells, Royden Wells, Damon Postel and George Tom; a sister in law Dorothy Brennen; and a son-in law Richard Prouty.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Sunday, August 27, 2017 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be at 11AM Monday, August 28, 2017 in the Snouffer Chapel with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
