ZANESVILLE
James “Jimmy” Henry Curtis, 73 passed away Monday, July 9, 2018. He was born July 30, 1944 to Charles and Mildred Brookens Curtis. Jimmy was a truck driver for Columbia Cement as well as later helped many men and women receive their CDL training as an instructor at Mid East Career Center. He enjoyed cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes and was a loving father, grandfather and a friend to everyone that knew him. He served our country and protected our freedom in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Alaska.
In addition to his mother; he is survived by his children: Jamie (Troy) Smith, Rachel (Kurt) Wolery and James “Jay” (Crystal) Curtis Jr.; a brother George Curtis; a sister Rachel “Susie” Curtis; six grandchildren: Jahna (Tim) Rutherford; Laken Curtis, J.C. Curtis III, Madison Wolery, Maddox Wolery and Keely Thomas; and two great grandchildren: Adriana and Adrien.
He is preceded in death by his father Charles Curtis Sr.; his wife Irene Norman Curtis; and a brother Charles “Charlie” Curtis Jr.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Sunday, July 15, 2018 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE, OHIO. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, July 16 in the Snouffer Chapel with Minister David Mayle officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors by VFW.
