Jean Audrey (Hunt) Caughey

ZANESVILLE

Jean Audrey Caughey 93, of Zanesville passed away on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at Brookdale of Zanesville. She was born on January 9, 1925 in Zanesville to the late Harold and Estella Doughty Hunt.  She was a secretary for many years for Dr. Jack Booth and Dr. John Ray, whom she loved working for in addition to Michelle and Brenda.  Jean was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.  As a child Jean faced a lot of adversity and her goal was to make sure her children were well taken care of.  She was a loving wife, an excellent mother and a friend to all who knew her. Jean loved the Cincinnati Reds of the 70’s and listened to all the games on the radio, even taking the radio to bed with her when they were playing on the west coast.

She is survived by her daughter Janet (Barry) Kessler and her son John Caughey.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John S. “Jack” Caughey; her best friend of 83 years Carol Derry; and her beloved sheltie Sally.

Visitation will be from 11AM to 1PM Monday, July 30 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE.  Funeral services will follow at 1PM with Rev. Dr. Mark Chow officiating.  Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
