PHILO

Michael J. Randolph of Philo, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017. He was born June 26, 1951 in Louisville, KY to the late James Ford and Geraldine Lee Ellis Randolph. Michael graduated from Lakewood High School in 1969. He studied music at Denison University (music theory, sight singing, ear training, and piano) and received his Bachelors of Hymnology from LOGOS Bible College. The highlight of his training was attending The Stamps Baxter Conservatory of Music for three years. He enjoyed life on the road for many years in various Southern Gospel groups such as: The Swordsmen Quartet, The Master Trio, The Rhyne/Randolph Evangelistic Team, The Randolph Family Singers, and The Harvest Time Singers. He served as Minister of Music at Newark Heights Church of God, Trinity Full Gospel Church, Tree of Life Church of God, Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, Covenant Church of God, and finally his home at Rhema House of Worship.  Throughout his years Michael wrote and arranged over 100 original songs. His passion for music through the years led him to create a ministry of original Easter and Christmas theatrical productions, through which hundreds were led to the Lord. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, biking, spending time with his family and loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.  The family invites anyone who has sung with him in the past or currently to attend the funeral and join the choir to lift their voices for one of his favorite songs.

Surviving are his wife Sandra Kay Miller Randolph; a son Justin Michael (Greg) Randolph; three daughters: Kimberly Sue (Brian) Smith; Shelley Renee (Joshua) Williams and Katrina Denise Stone; three grandsons: Malcolm Asoni Mozee, Hunter Scott Smith and Cole Michael Smith; two granddaughters: Madisan Nicole Smith and Jade Alyssa Silcott; a sister Brenda Jean Angle; two nieces: Amy (John) Angle Parrish and Heather Rhyne; and a niece in law Kim Randolph.
