Robert Leland Gabriel

Robert Leland Gabriel 87, of Zanesville passed away on Friday April 13, 2018 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.

He was born in Zanesville on February 6, 1931 to the late Harold and Esther Waugh Gabriel. He previously worked at H.C. Price Co. in Bartletsville, OK and was retired from Armco Steel after 40 years.  He was formerly on the Jaycee’s Board of Directors and was also awarded Jaycee of the year in 1963. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling around the world, and was a former member of South Zanesville United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Juanita Matheny Gabriel whom he married on March 26, 1949, two daughters: Diane (Mike) McElfresh and Kimberly Gabriel DeMent, five grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchild.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brother’s Merlin and Russell Gabriel and a sister Arlene Ansel; granddaughter Nichole Collins and great grandson Cevin Collins.

Calling hours will be from 2-7 on Monday April 16, 2018 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE.  Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday April 17, 2018 in the Snouffer Chapel with Rev.
