Allen Hartman Obituary

ZANESVILLE

Allen Hartman, 53 passed away Sunday, September 12, 2021 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born September 18, 1967 in Zanesville to Larry and Melodie Hartman Gibson. He was a 1985 graduate of John Glenn High School.

He served his country in the US Navy as a Radioman Petty Officer on board the USS Coral Sea (CV-43) in Norfolk, VA and later on base in Hawaii. Al worked for the State of Ohio, BWC and later for the Federal Government as a Claim Specialist at the Social Security Administration in Cambridge, proudly serving as a public servant, which he greatly enjoyed.

Big Al loved his family more than anything, as well as the Pittsburgh Steelers and The Ohio State Buckeyes. On any given Saturday, he would proudly wear his buckeye necklace, cheering on OSU and Sunday’s were always reserved for NASCAR.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 22 years, Amy Gadd Hartman; sons: Joshua Hartman and Tanner Hartman; brother Greg (Jennifer) Hartman; sister Wendy (John) Matheney; brother in law Brian (Wendi) Gadd; mother in law Judy Gadd; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Ana Pauline Gibson; his best friend and cousin Jason Robinson and father in law Del Gadd.

Calling hours will be Monday, September 20, from 6 to 8PM at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE and one hour prior to the service.
