Betty J. Buker, 98, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025, surrounded by her family at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. She was born June 19, 1927, in Zanesville to the late Charles O. and Charlene (Geese) Johnson. She attended Meredith Business College, was employed at Muskingum College and she also worked in the accounting and hotel management industries. She worked at CW Taylor Construction. Betty was a Kentucky Colonel; belonged to the Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America and a member of the Mended Hearts.
She is survived by daughter: Marsha (Roger) Fritter; grandchildren: Mike Fritter and Michelle (Jarrod) Norman; special friend Christine Audrain and her children: Michael Lipinski and Catherine Lipinski.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Joseph Buker; special friend Salvatore “Sam” Mandina; and dear friends: Pauline Stiles and Diane LeRoy.
Memorial contributions may be made to a hospice organization or charity of your choice.
Private services are being held at the convenience of the family. THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, has the distinct honor of serving the family. Cremation care has been entrusted to The Snouffer Crematory.
