Bonita "Bonnie" Grace (Cooper) Waybright

November 5, 1944 ~ April 22, 2022 (age 77)


Bonita "Bonnie" Grace Waybright, 77, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville. She was born November 5, 1944 in Harman, WV to the late Sampson S. and Grayce Shears Cooper. Bonnie was an over the road truck driver and was one of the first women to work in an underground coal mine and is recorded in the Library of Congress. She was a member of the United Mine Works Union and enjoyed bowling.

Surviving are her daughter Michelle R. Huber; brother Tim Cooper; two grandchildren: Adrienne N. Huber and Elizabeth Huber; and four great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters: Arlene Cynthia Cooper Brown, Helen Collette Cooper Bennett and Margurite Deloris Cooper Vance.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2PM Saturday, April 30, 2022, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Jeff Belt officiating. She will be laid to rest on her family farm cemetery in Harman, WV with Elder Lee Hoover officiating.
