Carolyn Sue Cable

Carolyn Sue Sims Cable, 86, of Zanesville passed away on Saturday February 15, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born in Sayre, Ohio on April 25, 1938, to the late Floyd C. and Bessie Hartley Sims.

Carolyn was a 1956 Graduate of McLuney High School and retired from AT &T after several years of dedicated service.  She was a member of Zion Christian Union Church in Portersvile, Eagles Aerie 302, VFW Post 1058 Auxiliary, and American Legion Post 29 Auxiliary all of Zanesville. Carolyn enjoyed mowing grass, flowers, and enjoying time with friends and family. She was a very courageous and strong woman, having raised four children after her husband Wayne Delmer Cable was killed in an accident on December 21, 1971, at Ohio Ferro-Alloy.

She is survived by four children: Mark (Beth) Cable, Jane Barbour, Keith Cable, and Cassie Barrett; a sister Louella Miles; 10 grandchildren: Misty (Nat) White, Shawn (Lynsey) Cable, Shandy (Jason) Mizer, Nicole Bookless, Luke Steed, Eric Cable, Brittany Blake, Kira Sullivan, Kyle Barrett, and Breanna Donnely; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Leonard Sims, Amos Sims, Eddie Sims, and Herb Sims; and a sister Norma Nicewanger.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Thursday February 20 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE.  Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday at Zion Christion Union Church, 15331 Portie-Flamingo Road Corning, Ohio with Pastor Marc Caton officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery.
