Charles “Chris” Christopher Pettry, 70, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Genesis Hospital. He was born April 5, 1954, in Zanesville to Charles “Chuck” and Martha Elliott Pettry. He was a 1972 graduate of Zanesville High School and worked as a Paramedic for the Dayton Fire Department. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan. Chris served his country and protected our freedom in the United States Navy.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister Teri Pettry Baughman; a niece Meghan (Todd) Truax, and a great-niece Rachael Allwood.
He is preceded in death by brothers: Greg Pettry and Mike Pettry; brother in law Ron Baughman Jr.; grandfathers: Dr. Phil Elliott and Bill Pettry; and grandmother Gertrude Barber.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday March 5, at First Christian Church, 3000 Dresden Road Zanesville. THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, has the distinct honor of serving the family. Cremation care has been entrusted to The Snouffer Crematory.
