ZANESVILLE

Clyde Edsel “Eddie” Dunn, 95, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loved ones, following an extended illness.  He was born February 10, 1927, in Zanesville to the late Earl and Ethel Needs Dunn. He retired as a Regional Truck Driver from Grief Brothers in 1993. Eddie was a member of Norval Park Church of Christ, the American Legion Post #29 and VFW Post #1058. He served our country and protected our freedom by serving in the United States Navy (March 24, 1944-May 7,1946) during World War II and the United States Army (November 8,1946-April 7, 1948) War. He enjoyed holidays with family, taking car rides, tinkering around in the garage, taking care of his yard, watching his girls’ softball and loved flying the American Flag.  

He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Dorothy L. Marshall Dunn, whom he married December 16, 1951; his son in law Tommy Worden Sr.; his great granddaughter Laikyn Wisecarver; three brothers: Harry Dunn, Earl J. Dunn and Russell Dunn; and two sisters: Delores Kerwood and Hazel Wagner.

He is survived by five daughters and a son: Sherry (Tim) Dickerson, Gloria Worden, Jerry (Denise) Dunn, Loralei (Lu Hatfield) Dunn, Sabrina (Bryan) White and Susan McGraw; seven grandchildren: Stephanie (Tye) Jones, Denis (Jodi) Niceswanger, Tommy (Nichol) Worden Jr., Elizabeth Dayton, Tyler Dickerson, Madison (Trent Goins) Cohen and Garrett White.; nine great grandchildren: Mackenzie (Lance) Hambrick, Tamara (Jordan) Montgomery, Cody (Rachel Boubary) Niceswanger, Easton (fiancé Kaley) Jones, Austin Niceswanger, Natalie Davidson, Sarah Queen, Owen Worden and Aubrey Worden; and four great-great grandchildren: Brantly Hambrick, Bowen Hambrick, Adelyn Jones, and Emilia Montgomery.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE.  Funeral services will be held at 1PM Thursday, June 9 in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Jim Clegg officiating. Entombment will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park. With Full Military Honors by The United States Navy and VFW Post 1058.
