Dale Jones Obituary

Dale Wilson “Jitterbug” Jones, 102, of Willow Haven Care Center, Zanesville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 13, 2020 following his battle with cancer.

He was born in Glouster, Ohio to the late Isaac and Bridgette Bell (James) Jones on November 19, 1918. Dale was a WWII Veteran serving under the 1st Armored Division with the 91st Mechanized Artillery Unit from 1940 to 1945. He retired from Putnam Transfer in 1975 as a truck driver. He was an avid golfer until he was 92 and enjoyed his Thursday afternoon Senior Bowling League until he was over 100. Dale was a Faithful member of the Christian Missionary and Alliance Church for over 40 years.

Dale is survived by his son Rick (Marrijane) Jones; two daughters: Shellie (Joe) Hohl and Kimm (Rick) Bowman; grandchildren: Danielle (Jon) Henderson, Dean Bowman, Gregg Wells, Jeff (Chloe) Wells, Cory Bible (fiancee Sarah), Kyle (Jessie) Bible, Colin Jones, Jordan Jones and Micah Jones.  Dale had 4 great grandchildren: Madelyn Bible, Rocco and Lucca Bible and Izzy Pawlirzyn; and a special friend: Charlie McLaughlin.

He was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Eileen (Nichols) in 2010. They were married on October 25, 1945 and celebrated their life together for 64 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Ike, Vaughn, Bill, Gerald, Kenny, Joe, Harman and Glenn; and sisters: Bernice, Mary and Audrey Mae.

A memorial celebration will be planned at a later date.
