David Lee Macenko, 77, of Zanesville, OH, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 18, 1948, in Zanesville, OH to the late Joseph Michael Macenko and Anna Irene Mizik Macenko. He loved riding his bike, watching westerns and the Andy Griffith Show and listening to polka music. He loved his church and lived his life to help the Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Dovenbarger Macenko; children: Frank Macenko, Bill (Marsha) Macenko, and Mary (Scott) Macenko Dodson; Eight grandchildren: Nikta Macenko, Amber (Jered Miller) Lewis, Justin (Stephanie Clelland) Lewis, Aaron (Kate) Macenko, Jordan Macenko, Kayla (Chad) Durbin, Nicole Dodson and Scottie Dodson Jr. , Eight great grandchildren: William Macenko, Wyatt Macenko, Lenox Lewis, Tucker Miller, Maverick Durbin, Hudson Durbin, Nash Durbin and Zoie Dodson; a brother Joseph Macenko; and a sister Becky (Stan) Wickham.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Barbara Macenko Lorey and a brother Lawrence Macenko.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM- 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, OHIO. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM with Rev. Mark Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Cremation care has been entrusted to the Snouffer Crematory.
