Earl Taylor Obituary

Earl Lane Taylor, 97, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at The Oaks at Bethesda. He was born August 28, 1925, in Matoaka, West Virginia to the late George Wilbur and Mary Magdalen Shelton Taylor. He retired in 1986 from Suburban Motor Freight as a truck driver. He had previously worked at David Davies and Omar Bread in Zanesville. He was a member of the V.F.W Post #1058. He served our country and protected our freedom as a Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. Earl’s favorite pastime was visiting with friends and family.

Surviving are his children: Linda (Wayne) Phillips, Mary (David) Harbaugh, Rodney (Melissa) Taylor and Roger (Kelly) Taylor; 11 grandchildren; 19 great- grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Louise Baker Taylor, who passed away February 6, 2010; two sisters: Anne Goff and Zelda Taylor; and four brothers: Clarence Taylor, William Taylor, James Taylor and Burl Taylor.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, 515 Putnam Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

A graveside service will be held at 2PM, Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at St. Paul Cemetery with Pastor Cary Grandstaff officiating and full military honors.
