Edward H. Jones Jr.

Edward H. Jones Jr., 78, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born April 27, 1947, in Zanesville, son of the late Edward H. and Virginia Hitchcock Jones Sr.  He was a graduate of Lash High School and retired from the State of Ohio Department of Transportation, after 25 years of service. He served his country and protected our freedom as a member of the United States Air Force. He was a member of Cornerstone Full Gospel Church; enjoyed watching dirt track racing, especially his favorite racer Devin Moran; going to his grandchildren’s football games; shooting pool; and spending time with his family.

He is survived by three sons: Robert (Teresa) Knowlden, Richard (Mary) Knowlden and Tye (Stephanie) Jones; grandchildren: Austin (Madison) Knowlden, Cole (Taylor) Knowlden, Noah (Katie) Meredith, Tamama (Jordan) Montgomery and Easton (Kaley) Jones; several great grandchildren; and lifetime friends and neighbors Kenny and Sue Scoles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Janice Eileen Jones, who passed away December 5, 2019; and a sister Robin Jones.
