ZANESVILLE
Francis Eugene Williams, 98, received his pilot's wings in heaven on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the Helen Purcell Home. He was born November 26,1923 in Trinway to the late Marion and Gladys King Williams. He was a retired commercial pilot for Buckeye Supply. He spent many happy hours at the Zanesville Airport with the staff of Zanesville Aviation. Aviation was his passion; he achieved advanced pilot ratings for instructor, instrument and commercial and a multiple engine on various jet aircraft. He was a member of the Experimental Aviation Association and the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association. He proudly served our country and protected our freedom in the United States Army during World War II. He was recently recognized for those military accomplishments by being selected to participate on an Honor Flight to Washington, DC.
Francis was a kind and caring gentleman. He was recognized as Caregiver of the Year for his untiring devotion to providing care and comfort to his wife and son during their terminal illnesses.
Surviving are his two sisters: Lucille Morosco and Shirley (George) Moffett; sister-in-law: Joan Williams, nieces and nephews: Annette Parker, Christine (Bill) Kolopajlo, Michelle (Mark) Musselman, Lisa (Mark) Clark, Marty Morosco, Nicole (Kris) Thorne, Jason Morosco, Barb (Jim) Fisher, Sandy (Pat) Connar, Amy (Rob) Gray, Toby (Tammy) Williams and Stu (Janelle) Williams; many great nieces and nephews; and special recognition to Casey and Chelsea Connar, Elizabeth Rzasaand his "little sweetie pie", Aubree Henry, who brought much joy to his life.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Vanechelpoel Williams; son, Richard Williams; three brothers, Lawrence Williams, Robert Williams, and Donald Williams; sister-in-law, Jean Williams; brother-in-law;Joseph Morosco, and special friend, Bess Caton.
Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday, April 28, 2022, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME/1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral
services will be at 11 AM Friday, April 29 in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove with full military honors by the
VFW Post #1058 and the American Legion Post #29.
