Gary "Pops" L. Jones

Gary L. “Pops” Jones 79 of New Concord went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Friday April 9, 2021 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House.  He was born December 2, 1941 in Zanesville a son of the late Harold and Della Paxton Jones.  He was a meat cutter for over 50 years retiring from Walmart in Florida, loved to hunt and fish, OSU Football, country music and was a member of the American Legion Post 29 in Zanesville.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy Reserves.

Gary is survived by his wife of 27 years Becky Fulkerson Jones; children: Rhonda Heskett, Gary (Chelsea) Jones II, Rhianna (Chris) Boggs, Denise (Randy) Wells, John (Marsha) Harris and Juanita (Steve) Wilson; one sister Bev Gundelfinger; 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; special Cousin Sue Wright and his faithful companion Sir Brutus.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son Randy Jones; three brothers: Raymond, Wayne and Ronnie Jones.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Go Fund Me established in his name to help offset medical expenses.

Psalm 116:15 “Precious in the sight of the Lord, is the death of his saints”.

Calling hours will be held 11 until time of services at 12 noon on Friday April 16, 2021 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE with son-in-law Randy Wells officiating.  Entombment will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
