George L. Katsampes

George L. Katsampes, 89, was born October 26, 1931 and died May 28, 2021. He was an avid pilot and enjoyed many hours flying his airplane. He is a Past Master of Honor Lodge 726 F&AM and member of La Fayette Lodge 79 F&AM. George retired from the Social Security Administration and he and Eleanor enjoyed traveling the United States, Canada and Greece, where he has relatives in Athens and the villages.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Bessie (Hiotis) Katsampes. He is survived by his wife , Eleanor (Kain) Katsampes; three children , Lou Katsampes of Jackson, TN, Karen (John) Sheppard of Akron, OH and Susan (Steve) Tilley of Fallsburg, OH; three grandchildren, Taylor (Heath) Harpster, Zachary Sheppard, Zoe Sheppard; and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Mason Harpster all of Akron. The family would like to give a special thanks to friends and neighbors for their support and to our friends at Genesis Hospice and Morrison House for the special care provided during this time.
