George Fredrick Kessler, 92, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, in Kingwood, Texas. He was born October 26, 1933, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Charles and Thelma Marsh Kessler. He served our country and protected our freedom in the United States Navy. George owned Kessler’s Foodtown and also worked at United Technology. He enjoyed bowling here at Military Lanes; skating at the Lind Arena; eating out and taking a drive afterwards.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Dora Jones Kessler; his children: Fredrick Kessler (Julie Alber), Richard Kessler, Debra (Tim) Winkler, and Deanna (Steve) Senter; grandchildren: Justin Winkler, Jessica Besancon, Brandon Kessler and Brittany Kessler; great grandchildren: Mason, Stella and Brooklyn Besancon; and many nieces, nephews and their children.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Jim Kessler.

Calling hours will be from 11AM to 12PM Saturday, May 16, 2026 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, OHIO. Graveside services will follow immediately after at 12:15PM in Zanesville Memorial Park with Pastor Jeff Belt officiating.
