Gloria Jo Bates Keylor, 82, of Crooksville, formerly a longtime resident of Roseville, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. She was born August 22, 1941, in Summerfield, Ohio to the late Harry Q. and Madge E. Compton Bates. She was a 1961 graduate of Summerfield High School and attended cosmetology school in Canton. She was a manager at Save A Lot and also worked at all the potteries in Roseville. Gloria was a member of the Red Hats, Roseville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary “The Sparkette’s”, the Boot Scooters Line Dancing and a 50 year member of the Roseville Villagettes, where she was a former President. She attended the Church of Christ.
She is survived by her three sons: Derrick (Dr. Ericka Ryan) Keylor, Travis (Lori) Keylor and Quentin Keylor; brother Howard Franklin (Rita) Bates; sister in law Alice Bates; eight grandchildren: Nichole (Tyler) Clark, Zach (Jessica) Keylor, Hannah (Jared) Kelly, Kalais Keylor, Emily Keylor, Kristen (Rik) Menchen, Bryan (Ashley) Ruff and Sierra (Taylor) Maclam; and 12 great grandchildren: Olivia, Allison, Xander, Ashlynn, Madilynn, Bryson, Sammy, Ellie, Lily, Abby, Barrett and Hallie.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother Jonnie Bates.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roseville Fire Department, 107 N. Main Street, Roseville, OH 43777.
Calling hours will be 1 to 3 and 4 to 6 PM, Sunday, April 21, 2024, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will begin at 6 PM in the Snouffer Chapel.
