Harold L. Barnhart Sr. “Barney”, 73, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2022 at his residence. Barney was born in Greasy Ridge, OH, Lawrence Co. to the late John N. Barnhart and Dorothy J. Butler Barnhart. Barney retired as a machinist from the Lear Corporation. He loved watching sports, especially his Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds. He also loved his animals. Barney was also a member of the Rolling Plains Church.
Barney is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Judy Moorehead Barnhart; children, Pastor H. Lee (Peggy) Barnhart Jr., John (Angie Nelson) Barnhart and Jane (Will) White; grandchildren, Josiah (Nicole) Barnhart, Marcus (Ashley) Barnhart, Cody (Erica) Barnhart, Brandon (Kristen Miranda) Waller, Ashley (Kendall Kane) Waller and Abby (Brandon) Smail; and eight great grandchildren; his twin brother, Gerold (Theresa) Barnhart; a sister, Mildred Coleman; a brother-in-law, Tom Scott; sisters-in-law, Mary Barnhart and Joyce Barnhart; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Fred, Richard “Tip” Barnhart and sisters, Wanda Barnhart, Delores Gordon and Dorothy Scott.
Calling hours will be from 10AM to 11AM Wednesday December 28, 2022 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM with Pastor H. Lee Barnhart Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Forks Cemetery. Memorials in Barney’s memory may be sent to Shriver’s Hospice, 601 Underwood St. Zanesville, OH 43701.
