Howard F. Rock Sr., 84 of Zanesville passed away at Genesis Hospital on Friday September 12, 2025. He was born in Wooster, Ohio on April 23, 1941, to the late Forest and Kathryn Landis Rock. Howard was a dedicated employee of Integrity Supply, Certified Oil, and Walmart. He enjoyed Western movies, especially when they featured John Wayne, crossword puzzles, gardening, and his grand dog Rocky. Howard was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly served our country and defended our freedom in the United States Army.
He is survived by his daughter Peggy (Aaron) Anderson; a son Howard (Kim) Rock Jr.; four grandchildren: Kayla (Brandon) McClain, Saylor (Matt) Popadak, Olivia Rock and Cole Rock; two step-grandchildren: Kaci Moss and Kelsie Moss; seven great-grandchildren: Wyatt Popadak, Noah Popadak, Corbin Popadak, Emery Rock, Waylon Rock, Everlee Rock and his sidekick chocolate milk buddy Ryder Patterson; and special friends Gary (Ronda) Pettit.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers: Clayton Rock, James Rock, Darel Rock, Richard and Raymond Rock; a sister Nora Carol Taylor; and great-grandchild Baby McClain.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Tuesday September 16 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Wednesday in The Snouffer Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
