James Kevin Garber Sr., 68, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2025. He was born March 8, 1957, in Zanesville to the late James W. and Georgiana Atkinson Garber. He was the owner/operator of Garber Heating and Cooling. He was also employed over the years as a Coal Miner, Welder and Postal worker. James was a member of AmVets, enjoyed golfing, swimming, fishing and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. He served his country and protected our freedom in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his children: Kevin (Cariann) Garber Jr. and Kristina (Justin) Smith; five brothers: Jeff (Jackie) Garber, Bill Garber, Ted (Nancy) Garber, Fred (Marta) Garber and Steve (Kelly) Garber; brother-in-law William Parrill; grandchildren: Ellie, Kaydence, Clayton, Ethan, Emery, Bowen and Jasper; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Molly Parrill, and sister-in-law Beth Garber.
Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, OHIO. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM with Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park with full military honors by the George Selsam VFW Post 1058.
