James “Chip” Jesse II, 65, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at his residence following a brief illness. He was born February 18, 1959, in Zanesville to the late Jim and Bonnie (Baker) Jesse. Chip was a 1978 graduate of Maysville High School and Mid East Vocational School, where he excelled in carpentry class. He was the owner and operator of Chip Jesse Construction. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and shed hunting. He was a member of the NRA, NWTF, and a member of the Hanover Masonic Lodge #115.
Surviving is his daughter Bonnie (Doug Thornton) Jesse; his ex-wife, Carol (Kennedy) Jesse; four sisters: Terry England, Deborah (Rodger) Carson, Becky (Larry) Orndorff and Cindy (Delby) Cannon; and three grandchildren: Paisley Matthews, Maddi Matthews and Roscoe Matthews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother-in-law John England.
Graveside services will be held at noon, August 9, at Zanesville Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Harrop officiating. A gathering of friends will follow from 1 to 3PM at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, with light refreshments.
