Judith “Judy” Lynn Sprankel, 72, passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. She was born February 6, 1953, in Zanesville to the late Jack Conrad and Melba “Midge” McCaig Conrad. She was a 1971 graduate of West Muskingum Schools and attended Cosmetology school after graduation. In the summer of 1971, she met her husband Thomas E. Sprankel, and they were married on January 16, 1972.
She worked for the Tri Valley School district as a helper and cook at several schools in the district and retired as a cook after 30 plus years. Judy was also the secretary for the Adamsville Baseball Association for 11 years. She set up and ran the Tri Valley support groups for Bingo, which raised funds for the three school bodies for many years. She always made it a point to attend all her children’s school events and even showing up for other kid’s families too.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Sprankel; two sons: Shawn Sprankel and Shane Sprankel; a sister Janet Conrad; a nephew Jason Conrad and a niece Jodi Dooley.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Jacquie Conrad.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8PM, Tuesday, January 27, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. The funeral service will begin at 11AM Wednesday, January 28, in the Snouffer Chapel with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
