Katherine Jo (Kathie) Mendenhall, 74, of Zanesville, formerly of McConnelsville, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Kathie was born on November 12, 1951 in Pomeroy, Ohio to the late James and Mary Clifford Lloyd. She was a 1969 graduate of Gateway Senior High School and was Catholic by faith. She enjoyed reading, baking apple pies, and container gardening. Kathie had a green thumb and could keep any plant alive. Her real passion was the family business, Lloyd’s Men’s Store, in McConnelsville where she took great pride in serving customers.
She is survived by two daughters: Michelle (David) Domostoy and Dustie (Jason) Gheen (She was not only my best friend, but my “Angel on Earth” and now she is dancing in the sky with the love of her life, my dad); a step daughter: Shelly Carnes; two brothers: Nick (Dee Dee) Lloyd and Bruce (Leila) Lloyd; eight grandchildren: Dana, Kristy, Justin, Jordan, Jacob, Trey, Cylus, and Grayson; six great grandchildren: Jazmynn, Daelin, Dillon, Julean, Logan, Blake; and a great-great grandson Liam.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Russell Mendenhall who passed away on July 28, 2022; and a grandson, David Jr.
Kathie’s daughter Dustie is employed by Dori’s Flower Shop and suggests flower orders be made their 740-962-3631.
Memorial visitation will be from 1-2pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral service will follow at 2pm in The Snouffer Chapel with Pastor James Galen Finley officiating. The Snouffer Crematory has been entrusted with cremation care.
