Keith A. “Cowpoke” George, 72, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025, at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1952, in Fairfield County, Ohio, to the late Harley D. and Doris S. Ruff George. He was a 1970 graduate of Fairfield Union High School. In his early years he farmed with his father. He was a diehard fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and loved to watch his children and grandchildren show animals in 4-H. Keith was a member of the Fairfield Antique Power Club and enjoyed his Farmall tractors.
He is survived by his children: Darla S. (Chad) Browning, Robin R. (Charlie) Corder and Jason (Tammy) George; grandchildren: Andrew Browning, Kaleigh Corder and Patrick George; nephews: Scott (Cheryl) Carpenter and Dan (Brandy) Carpenter; and special friends: Tom and Sue Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson Timothy Corder; and two sisters: Linda Carpenter and Nancy Streets.
No services will be held at this time. Family graveside services will be held at a later date in Grandview Cemetery, Bremen, Ohio. THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, has the distinct honor of serving the George family. Cremation services are entrusted to The Snouffer Crematory.
