ZANESVILLE

Lela Leona Sims, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Willow Haven. She was born January 28, 1933, in Licking County to the late Edward Earl and Alma Alice Crawmer Lake. She graduated from Hanover High School and attended Bethesda School of Nursing. She was a member of Old Stone Church of Christ in Toboso and enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidery and playing the piano.

She is survived by her two sons: John Sims and Pete (Laura) Sims; four grandchildren: Marlena, Jeremy, Heather and Kaitlyn; six step grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harold A. Sims, who passed away March 29, 1991; a daughter Sandra Dickinson and a daughter in law Mearldene Sims.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 1166 Military Road, Suite A, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

Calling hours will be from 11 to 12PM Saturday, January 14 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. The funeral service will begin at 12PM. Burial will be at a later date in Hanover Cemetery.
