Lola Paisley Obituary

Lola Jean (Sigrist) Paisley, born to the late Martin and Viola (Kinnen) Sigrist on July 29, 1934, in Zanesville and raised in Adamsville, went to be with our Lord and Savior on July 23, 2022.

Lola was a true homemaker; she and Dick, who were married close to seven decades before he passed last year, raised six children the old fashion way with Dick working and her being a stay-at-home mom, in a time when you lived off the work you did. She learned to be frugal, creative, and resourceful.

Lola loved knitting, crocheting, crafting, quilting, talking to people, laughing, and “cook-outs”. She was great at making something out of nothing.

She enjoyed being a home maker much of her life and later, when her kids were all grown and left the nest, she became passionate about the time she spent working at Fashion Bug, it was a new, different and fun world for her.

Lola loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and talked about them all the time. Lola loved holidays and spring and summer times with flowers blooming, and cherry tomatoes. She enjoyed working at the election polls and being a part of her “homemakers” club and also quilting groups. She loved to laugh. She was truly an amazing woman and will be greatly missed.
For many, many years the neighborhood kids knew her house as the place to get popsicles. She and Dick loved when one of the kids would knock on their door and ask for a popsicle.
Dick left her on May 27, 2021, to be with the Lord, and we are sure he has patently waited for her to join him.

Left behind to cherish her memory are six children: Lois Paisley, Terry (Lilly) Paisley, Larry Paisley, Linda Stuckart, Steve (Vicki) Paisley and Bev Huffman; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren:  Bill (Joann) Paisley, Brandi and Cassie; Nichole (Heath) Alton; Andrea (Trent) Spellman, Caden, and Cruz; Sarah (Nathan) Hinebaugh, Willow, Jennifer Huffman, Makiah and Nicholas; Zach (Brianne) Paisley, Ava and Xavier; Steven (Devin Osborn) Paisley; Ryan and Melissa Huffman, Max and May; and Lydia (Mike Smith) Carroll, Lexie, Karson, Wesley and Paizley.

She cherished each time she was able to see her great-grandchildren more than anyone will ever know. Makiah Hampton, her first great-grandchild, was one of her closest friends later in life, whom she enjoyed cooking with and spending time with; and Willow, her last great grandchild, brought her many days of joy, smiles, and laughter in the past year. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Bernice Sigrist and Lee Sigrist, many nieces & nephews and her four-legged fur baby, Bella.

In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by two brothers: Robert Sigrist and Donald Sigrist: and her great-grandson Sawyer Hinebaugh.
Lola will be severely missed in our lives, but we rejoice that she will be spending eternity with our Heavenly Father.

The family gives a special ‘thank you’ to the staff and other residents at the Helen Purcell home for their care and companionships and friendships over the last 3 years. And to the nursing staff of 4 West and 3 West at Genesis Hospital, for the exceptional “care” given to Lola recently, the family sincerely thanks you.
A Memorial Service will be held by Graveside on Saturday August 6, 2022, at 10 AM, at Ark Springs Cemetery in Chandlersville. THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME is pleased to be serving the Paisley family in their time of need.
