Lucille Vaughn Obituary

Lucille Vaughn, 96, of Zanesville passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Lucille was born July 31, 1927, in Noble County to the late Francis and Marie Sorg. She was married to the love of her life Jack Vaughn for 58 years who passed away in 2006. Lucille retired as a sales associate for over 40 years at J.C. Penney. She enjoyed spending time with her family, work family and watching Ohio State football and basketball. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church.

Lucille is survived by her three daughters: Sandra (Thomas) Perone of Galena, Candace (Myron) Boyd of Canal Winchester and Jacquie (Joe) West of Nashport; six grandchildren: Michael Perone (Kate), Steven Perone (Lori), Jennifer Boyd Neuenschwander (Jason), Michelle Boyd Tancrede (Rob), Trisha West Porter (Tobey) and Chad West (Melinda); 12 great grandchildren; a sister Virginia (Roy) Nutt of Jensen Beach, Florida; two sisters in law: June Huey of Zanesville and Donna Sorg of Hebron; two brothers in law: David (Rick) Vaughn of Dublin and Dale Skilling of Coshocton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her three sisters: Geraldine Hannahs, Freda Lasure and Mary Lou Cochran; four sisters in law: Billie Ann Archer, Pam Skilling, Virginia Moore and Jan Sorg; two brothers: Cletus Sorg and Raymond Sorg; and six brothers in law: Ralph Hannahs, Robert Cochran, Frank Lasure, Bill Huey Sr., Eugene Archer and Bernard Vaughn Jr.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Genesis Home Hospice Care and a special thanks to Becky Roe from hospice. They would also like to thank Peggy Garman and Chris West for their exceptional care in her home as well.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8PM on Monday, November 6, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am Tuesday, November 7, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 East Main Street, Zanesville, with Father David Young as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
