ZANESVILLE
Margaret Frances Nelson, 82, peacefully passed away with her husband and family surrounding her on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. She was born May 6, 1942, in Zanesville to the late Albert F. and Ruth Miller Taylor. She was a 1960 graduate of Zanesville High School. Through the years, she was employed at the Muskingum County Home, Carskadden Optical, Perry’s Tricks & Treasures and was also a cook at West Muskingum High School.
Margaret was a member of Finley Chapel, where she enjoyed attending Bible study and helping with the Soup Ministry over the years. She was a devout follower of Christ and found great joy in prayer. She had many good friends with whom she enjoyed playing cards. She was also very active with 4-H. Margaret was a pillar for unconditional love to her beloved sons and family, always showing them support.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Russell "Guff" Nelson, whom she married December 31, 1960; three sons: Russell Lee (Cathy) Nelson Jr., Richard Lance (Tammy) Nelson and Rodney Loren (Jennifer) Nelson; her brother Albert (Carolyn) Taylor; six grandchildren: Ashli (Robert) Mull, Josh Nelson, Sarah (Matthew) McGrath, Chase Nelson, Madison Nelson and Logan Nelson; and great grandchildren: Zenon, Cadence, Maise, Nora, Harper and Aspen.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Fred Taylor.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. A Memorial Service will begin at 3PM and burial to follow in Williams Cemetery.
