ZANESVILLE

Maureen O’Donnell Bunting, 59, passed away at 1:32am on January 2, 2023, in CCU at Genesis Healthcare System, after a brief illness. She was born to Michael and Jane O’Donnell on October 21, 1963, in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended Seneca Valley High School in Harmony, PA. Maureen was retired and worked at several local businesses over the years. These included the Zanesville Country Club, St. Thomas School, Zak’s Restaurant and most recently Riesbeck’s in Zanesville.

She is preceded in death by her significant other’s father James Ross, her father Michael O’Donnell, maternal grandparents Charles and Mary Schell, two sons born sleeping: Christopher Michael Bunting and Charles Killian Bunting, and son Scott Allen Bunting.

She is survived by her long time significant other: Jacob Ross of the home, his mother Diane Day of Malta, her amazing mum (Maureen’s Lady Jane) Jane O’Donnell of Ellwood City, PA. Her siblings: Pat (Rob) Dickerson of Albuquerque, NM; Charlie (Ann) O’Donnell of Baden, PA; Shawn O’Donnell of Buda, TX; and Janie McDonald of Cranberry Township, PA. Uncle and Aunt Chuck and Beth Schell of Moon Township, PA. Three daughters: Amanda (Dustin) Hayes of Nashport; Sarah McKelvey and Megan Bunting, both of Zanesville. Grandchildren: Carli & Cadence Hayes; Riley & Colton McKelvey; Nathan Devoll; and Jamison & Jonah Jewell. Maureen is also survived by a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and former in-laws that loved her and will cherish her memory.

Maureen was a stubborn, free spirit with a huge heart. She was an avid reader and animal lover. She leaves behind her beloved kitties, with a special mention to Jack. We take comfort in knowing her body, mind and soul are at peace and that our beloved Scotty greeted her at the gates with a great big bear hug.

Special thank you to Perry Township Fire Department, Genesis Healthcare System’s Emergency Department and Critical Care Department doctors, nurses, techs and ancillary staff, for taking such great care of Maureen. You all are truly angels on earth.

Per Maureen’s wishes, she will be cremated and will have no services at this time.

A private family burial will be held Friday, May 26, 2023 in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, has the distinct honor of serving the family.
