Michael Raymond Smith Sr.

ZANESVILLE

Michael Raymond Smith Sr., 72, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Genesis Hospital. He was born October 25, 1951, in Greenville, PA to the late Nelson and Violet Gassaway Smith. He retired from Waste Management after 16 years. Michael loved softball, golfing, poker, karaoke; yard saling and attending family get togethers.

He is survived by three children: Michael (Lydia Carroll) Smith Jr., Matt (Karie Bash) Smith and Michele (Clyde Rogers) Smith; ten grandchildren: Tasha Sharrer, Hali (Dustin) Hindel, Austin Smith, Medoe Smith, Dakota Bash, Larz Bash, Rhyder Smith, Braeli Bash, Tavian Bash and Mattilynn Smith; seven great grandchildren: Alon’ah Bash, Khydin Bash, Maya Smith, Declan Hindel, Zai’den Pullie, Zai-khi Pullie and Zai-Kari Pullie; and three sisters: Yvonne Worden, Pam Taylor and Billie Willey.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline “Jackie” Holdren Smith; a daughter Misty Dawn Smith; three brothers: Butch Smith, Dave Smith and Gary Smith; and a sister Norma Webb.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE, has the distinct honor of serving the Smith family.
