Norma Marion Obituary

Written by Norma:

Norma L. Marion has died on November 3, 2021 at the Morrison House in Zanesville in the company of family.

Norma was born in Ashtabula, Ohio on April 21, 1954 to Frank and Shirley (Luce) Nappi.  She was their fifth child.  She graduated from Ashtabula Harbor High School in 1972 and from Kent State University in 1976.

Norma married David W. Marion on June 14, 1975.  She always felt that this was the best move she ever took in her life.  They have two children; Jessica (Chris) Johnson and Michael Marion.  Jessica brought a grandchild, Rebecca Johnson, into the family.  Besides the offspring, Norma is survived by her siblings - Frank Nappi, Lucinda Palmer, Charlotte Fry and Marcella Novak and their children.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Norma requests that no one cry because she is gone.  She would love to be remembered with joy and good times and happiness.  Rather than focus on the loss, focus on the fact that she was here and that you can remember her.  She did so many things in life that, when it came time to make a bucket list, there just wasn’t anything to put on it.  She loved her flowers, her animals and her people deeply.  Her life was good.  Hold that thought.

Special thanks go out to the entire Cancer Center and Hospice Department at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville for the gentle care that she got in association with their facilities.  Sister Bernadette was an inspiration and extremely kind.  She restored Norma’s faith in God’s plans.

There was a celebration in Heaven, but there will be no service on this Earth to commemorate the day when God’s angels carried His beloved daughter back home to His Kingdom.  There will be a celebration of Norma’s life at 2:00 PM on the 68th anniversary of her birth, April 21 of 2022, in the Garden of Faith in Zanesville Memorial Park located at 1475 Military Road, Zanesville, Ohio, 43701.
