Richard Lavy Obituary

Richard L. Lavy,72, of Zanesville passed away on Friday February 7, 2025 at Genesis Hospital Emergency Department.

Rick was born in Zanesville on April 17, 1952 to the late Virgil and Rozena Hina Lavy. He was a 1970 Graduate of Zanesville High School. Rick enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling, and helping the South Rebels Football program. He was a very prominent member of the Zanesville Community, having owned several businesses over the years such as Rick Lavy Floor Covering, and was a former Zanesville City Council President and Mayor of Zanesville.

Rick is survived by three children: Brent (Diana) Lavy, Josh (Brandy) Lavy, and Shae (Jeffrey) Adams; two brothers: Robert (Brenda) Lavy and Steven (Amy) Lavy; three sisters: Karen White, Virginia (Ron) Feick, and Pamela Lavy; brother in law Dan Waxler; six grandchildren: Kalynn (Kevin) Moorehead, Sarah (Kolland) Browning, Hunter (Kylie Bare) Lavy, Airah Lavy, Gavin Lavy, and Blake Adams; and four great grandchildren: Trinity, Kolton, Amara, and Charlotte.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Marsha Waxler.

THE SNOUFFER CREMATORY has been entrusted with Cremation Care.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Sunday, February 16, at Coburn United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Raaker officiating.
