Rise Jean Roach, 74, of Zanesville, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at Genesis Hospital.
She was born in Zanesville on October 22, 1948, to the late John and Virginia Jean Spinks Roach. She attended The Ohio State University School of Music and Ohio University, Zanesville. She taught elementary school at St. Nicholas, was an employee of Bethesda Hospital’s Occupational Therapy Department, and was an adaptive equipment specialist for the State of Ohio. She attended Coburn United Methodist Church and Central Presbyterian Church, both of Zanesville. She sang in many churches in Zanesville, when she was younger. For many years, Rise was a member and officer in many Republican organizations, including The Ohio Federation of Republican Women, and clubs in Guernsey and Muskingum Counties.
She is survived by her best friend Anna Caldwell, Anna’s three children: Jana (Dave) Denlis of Springfield, Dirksen (Lisa) Pauley of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Joshua (Margie) Pauley of Cody, Wyoming; and Anna’s four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, whom Rise loved generously. She was preceded in death by an aunt, Mildred Roach Butler, an uncle, Way Roach, both of whom she deeply loved and respected.
Calling hours will be from 5-8pm on Tuesday, May 30th at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, May 31st, in the SNOUFFER Chapel with Pastor Mark Ballmer officiating.
Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
