Robert Andrew Ellenberger, 94, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at The Oaks at Northpointe. He was born September 6, 1928, in Zanesville to the late Guy C. and Anna Rehl Ellenberger. He worked as a truck driver for Rittberger and Armco Steel. Robert served his country and protected our freedom in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion Post #29, Fraternal Order of Eagles and a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed mowing with his tractor and watching Ohio State football on television.
He is survived by his son Eric (Kim) Ellenberger of Illinois; his daughter Lori (Kelly) Spiker of Zanesville; and four grandchildren: Andrew, Bryce, Tess and Emma.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Jane B. Madinger; and two brothers: Wesley Ellenberger and Kenneth Ellenberger.
Graveside services will be held at 2PM Saturday, November 5 in Zanesville Memorial Park with Pastor Andrew Wilson officiating. Burial will follow Military Honors by VFW Post 1058 and American Legion Post 29.
