Robert Lewis Ervin Sr., 86, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born February 1, 1938, to the late Daniel and Martha Dawson Ervin. He grew up in Cannelville and Roseville and was a graduate of Roseville High School. He was a driller for Temple Oil & Gas. Robert enjoyed farming, woodworking and watching NASCAR. He served his country and protected our freedom in the United States Army.
He is survived his wife Ada Jean Brewer Ervin; his children: Robert (Deborah) Ervin Jr., Lori VanMeter and Steven (Kathy) Ervin; two sisters: Mary Jane Whitehead and Gail Penrod; six grandchildren: Jacob Ervin, Amanda Ervin, Steven Ervin, Thomas Ervin, Chad VanMeter and Megan VanMeter; and four great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Daniel Ervin, son in law Kenny VanMeter and granddaughter Shayla Ervin.
Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM, Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, June 20 in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Jeff Belt officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
