Robert W Jones Sr.

Robert “Bob” “Slick” W. Jones Sr., 80, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at his residence. He was born August 2, 1941, in Thornville to the late Wayne F. and Wilma Hetrick Jones. He retired from Dutro where he was Service Manager. Bob was a member of the Old Steam and Gas Club, Southern Ohio Pulling Series, Hilliard Tractor Pulling Club and NQS Pulling Series. He was an avid garden tractor puller and engine builder for many years. He owned and operated Hopewell Horsepower. He served our country and protected our freedom in the United States Army.

He is survived by his significant other Nona Jones; four sons: Robert W. (Heather) Jones Jr., Gregory T. (Jackie) Jones, Richard D. (Vickie) Jones and Jeremy M. (Miranda) Jones; three daughters: Pamela Santos, Sandra (Jack) Board and Tawny (Mohammed) Bsatee; brother William “Bill” Jones; sister Mary (Steve) Mohler; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Jean (Shelby) Daniels and Carolyn Brown; sister-in-law Judy Jones; and best friend since childhood Zeke Miller.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday April 12, 2022, from 4-7pm at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY ROAD with funeral services to be held at 7pm with Chaplin Donald Harris officiating in the Snouffer Chapel. Military honors by American Legion Post 29 and VFW 1058.
