Robert "Bob" J. Campbell Sr.

Robert J. Campbell Sr., 83, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at Genesis Hospital. He was born November 27, 1940, in Zanesville to the late Nellie Fulkerson Campbell and raised by the late Orla Augusta Campbell. Robert was a 1958 graduate of Zanesville High School and retired from Rockwell as a tool maker. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He faithfully served the First Church of God as a Sunday school teacher and was very active in many church activities. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Bob was a craftsman, built numerous homes and other projects with family. He also enjoyed spending time hunting, fishing, playing golf and archery.

God, Family, Faith and his church was his life. He will leave a legacy of faith and integrity to his family.

He is survived by his wife Martha Jane Wilson Campbell, who he married June 25, 1960; seven children: Robin J. Jack, Rebecca A. Montgomery, Gail L. Campbell, Robert J. Campbell Jr., John M. Campbell, James T. Campbell and Joseph C. Campbell; and his total family consisted of 101 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers: John Campbell, Jack Campbell, Raymond Campbell and Daniel Campbell; and two sisters: Nancy M. Campbell and Rose Mary Campbell.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of God Pavilion Building Project, 1930 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM, Thursday, December 7, at First Church of God, 1930 Newark Road, Zanesville, and one hour prior to the service on Friday, December 8, at 10AM.  His daughter, Dr. Gail Campbell will be officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
