Roger Earl Zimmerer, 97, of Zanesville, OH, passed away July 30, 2025. Roger was born August 8, 1927, in Cincinnati, OH to the late Edwin Zimmerer and Julia Kuhl Zimmerer. He was a United States Army Veteran during WWII, a 1956 graduate of the University of Cincinnati and worked as a research chemist at Proctor and Gamble, developing nine patents. He was a member of the National History Museum, portrayed Dr. Merrill, and enjoyed making muzzleloaders and letter press printing.
He is survived by his children: Eric (Jan) Zimmerer, Michael (Chris) Zimmerer and Suzi (Keith Kleespies) Zimmerer; four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years Jeanne Bourquin Zimmerer; a sister Doris Burton and brother-in-law, Dallas Burton.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 10209 Plainfield Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45241.
