Ruth Ann Rider

Ruth Ann Rider, 87, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Riverside Hospital. She was born May 16, 1930 in Zanesville to the late William and Lena Young. Ruth graduated from Lash High School and was employed as an Assembler at General Electric in New Concord. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church and volunteered at Genesis Hospital.

She is survived by her husband Walter T. Rider; two sons: Michael B. (Pam) Rider and Thomas "Teddie" Rider; a daughter Kim (Rick) Bennett; six grandchildren: Misty (Jim) Walter, Scott (Dawn) Patterson, Christopher (Lindsey) Patterson, David (Rachel) Patterson, Josh (Amy) Miller and Jessica Miller; nine great grandchildren: Lauren Walter, Landon Walter, Sahara Kokott, Dakotah Piner, Harmony Miller, Ariel Miller, Marley Patterson, Lane Walker and Kage Walker; and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son Terry Patterson; a brother William “Bill” Young; and three sisters: Eloise, Frances and Catherine.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Monday, January 22, 2018 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE.  The funeral will take place at 1PM Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in the Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Joy Wigal officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
