Steven Jay Acheson

Steven Jay Acheson, 68, of Nashport passed away on December 13, 2024, at Genesis Hospital.

He was born on December 13, 1956, in Zanesville to the late Howard Osborn and Christina Marx Acheson. He was a 1974 graduate of Zanesville High School. Steve was a very hard worker having been employed at Victor McKenzie Drilling for many years where he held several titles such as Tool Pusher, Driller, and Pumper. Steve enjoyed traveling, camping, playing cards, going to flea markets, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and spending time with his grandchildren at their sporting events. He was a practical joker and enjoyed making people laugh.

He is survived by his loving wife Mary Elizabeth McKenzie Acheson; a daughter Ida Danielle (Earl) Shalosky; a son Jon Jay (Michelle) Acheson; a brother Jerry (Barb) Acheson; two sisters: Linda (Paul) Price and Karen (Art) Shumate; nine grandchildren: Sierra Lynn Shalosky, McKenzie Alexis  (Dodson) Gibson, Alyssa Jade Wilkins, Earl Francis Shalosky IV, Owen Jay Shalosky, Zoey Michelle Spears, Joshua Mason McKinney, Abigail Danielle Acheson, and Edward Jay Acheson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother David Allen Acheson and his in-laws: Victor (Agnes) McKenzie.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Monday December 16 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE.  Funeral Service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday in The Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Johnny Nolan officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
