Susan Norton Perry

On a beautify sunny day, Oct. 1, 2021 Susan Perry went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by her loving family.  It is truly fitting that Mom passed in this way as she spent her entire life bringing sunshine and love to her family and all whom she met.

Susan was born March 1, 1930 and was raised in Buffalo, NY, the youngest of four children.  She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Leonard M. Perry.  She is survived by her three sons, their spouses, six grandchildren, one adopted grandchild and one great grandchild:  Michael and Susan (Tiana and her husband Brian with baby Ava; Maria and her husband John), Matthew and Andrea (Jonathan, Austin and Reny), Christopher and Kim (Audrey and Tessa). 

Susan, the eternal optimist, was the perfect partner for Leonard, the loving pessimist.  They were both children of the “greatest generation” and instilled a deep sense of Christian, traditional family values in all three of their boys, both through their words and lived example.  Both Mom and Dad gave us a foundation of faith, honesty, hard work, and generosity, but it was Mom who was the quit rock of the family.  She was always working to meet the needs of her family, friends, and our neighbors.  Whether she was making Christmas gingerbread men for all the kids in the neighborhood (every year), supporting us in Boy Scouts or helping a neighbor in need, Mom was always giving to others.  She worked in the school system and as a Realtor later in life, but it was her generous spirit where she left her mark on the world.  She always considered herself “so lucky” even in the last days when she was struggling to breathe, never a complaint, always a smile and an “I love you sweetie”.  Never has God created a more giving and gentle spirit who touched so many people with her love.
