LAS VEGAS, NV
Lieutenant Colonel Terry L. Martin, 75, beloved Father, Grandfather and brother, flew west on July 4, 2021. He peacefully passed away in hospice care after a brave fight against the effects of COPD.
Lt. Col. Martin was born on May 12, 1946, in Gratiot, Ohio to Lloyd and Helen Martin. He was a 1964 graduate of West Muskingum High School and then graduated from Wilmington College. He joined the Armed Forces in 1968. He was a decorated Vietnam War veteran and an incredible fighter pilot who flew the Big Ugly (F4 Phantom). He spent another 25 years on active duty before retiring on January 31, 1993, to then reside in Las Vegas, NV for 31 years.
In addition to loyally serving his country, Lt. Col. Martin was a fun, loving and dedicated father to four children and five grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his family, barbecuing, NASCAR, and cheering on his favorite team, The Ohio State Buckeyes!
Lt. Col. Martin is preceded in death by his sons Robby and Christopher Martin and parents Lloyd and Helen Martin.
He is survived by his daughters, Sarah Micklos and husband Josh of Montgomery, TX; Stacy Richards and husband Bryan of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Reese, Addison, Logan, Dylan, and Kaden; brother, Mike Martin and wife Diane of Zanesville, OH; nephew, Michael Martin and wife JoAnn, and niece, Melissa McBride and husband Dave.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Las Vegas, NV and his ashes will be spread in his hometown of Gratiot, Ohio. A service will also be held in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Details of these events are yet to be determined but will be announced when plans are finalized.
